Leander ISD's Vision is that "Every student will exit our system with the same passion for learning they had when they entered, without economics determining success. Every Option Open."

Here are other ways you can contribute to the Summer Reading for All Book Drive to help keep all students reading during the summer. The book drive will help give books to students who might not otherwise have access to quality reading material.
• Our friends at Barnes & Noble Homestead (14010 US Hwy. 183 in Austin) are offering to donate a portion of their sales from March 2 – March 22 to support LISD’s Summer Reading for All Program.
Make sure you mention the “LISD Summer Reading for All Program” when you make a purchase at that store. Online sales count towards our sales goal as well. Please use the online code 11579869 during online checkout.
• Staff, parents, volunteers and community members may donate new or gently-used books at any LISD school library from February 4 - April 17. All levels of books will be accepted and all genres are needed (chapter books, picture books, non-fiction, fiction); however, the greatest need is for books appropriate for students in grades 6th through 12th.
• Don’t have any books to donate? Donations will be accepted - checks can be made out to Leander ISD.
• Follow #SR4A on Twitter and help spread the word!
• Contact LISD Secondary Language Arts Coordinator Jennifer Abramson at email@example.com if you have questions about making a donation.
Support the Summer Reading for All Program and help close the achievement gap, eliminate the “summer slide” and foster a life-long love for reading!
Growth management feedback needed
In the past 10 years, LISD has seen its student population nearly double, while funding for public education has been slashed.
Please click here to give your feedback
Today, the growth has slowed to a more manageable rate, but as a destination district, we know more families are choosing LISD
and we will continue to grow.
With all these things considered, we have some tough decisions to consider for the years ahead.
Help us plan for a future that best fits your priorities by voicing your opinion.
HOW SHOULD WE BEST MANAGE OUR GROWTH?
8th grade trip to Reunion Ranch
The 8th grade picnic is set for June 3, 2015, at Reunion Ranch. More information on cost, activities, and the actual permission slips will come at a later date.
It is critical that all students and parents understand the eligibility requirements. Eligibility is based on a student’s behavior, attendance, and obligations.

Reactivate Volunteer Applications
Reminder to all LISD volunteers: Please reactivate your volunteer application. Each year we ask our volunteers to update their information so we can start each school year off with your most current contact information and fit your skills with volunteer opportunities.
Thank you for your time. We appreciate you!!
Texas Public School Nutrition Policy at a glance
Parents may bring lunches for their own children; however, they are not permitted to bring pizzas, cakes, treats or other foods for distribution at lunch for students other than their own children due to Federal Nutrition Laws. Thank you for your understanding.
